The Montreux Bernese Oberland Railway Company (MOB) is pleased to announce a major expansion of its offer from 13 December 2020. Improvements include a systematic cadenced timetable between Montreux and Zweisimmen, as well as a half-hourly cadence between Montreux and Les Avants and between Zweisimmen and Gstaad.
The 2021 timetable will come effective on 13 December 2020. It will offer an important increase in supply on the MOB line between Montreux and Zweisimmen. Here are the main improvements:
- For the first time, the MOB line will benefit from a systematic cadenced timetable with a train every hour between Montreux and Zweisimmen. Trains will depart at minute 50 from Montreux and minute 02 from Zweisimmen. At Château-d’Oex, this new MOB timetable will offer departures in both directions at the minute 00, allowing a reorganisation of the Pays-d’Enhaut bus lines.
- Another novelty, shuttle trains will henceforth make the round trips between Montreux and Les Avants every hour, serving all the stops on the section. With the Montreux – Zweisimmen line, this means a service of two trains per hour every day at the stops of Fontanivent, Chernex, Sonzier, Chamby and Les Avants.
- The other busiest section of the line, Zweisimmen – Gstaad, will also benefit from a reinforced offer with a cadenced service at half an hour almost all day long.
- In the Pays d’Enhaut, additional trains will be offered to commuters between Château-d’Oex and Montbovon and between Les Sciernes and Montbovon.
